You decide out of the entire bunch Chris is the most interesting at this moment and follow him down the path. You think that you hear him crying as he is walking down the path, but in truth he is laughing. Chris is well aware of your feeble attempts to follow him and is plotting how to deal with this new wave of distrust that you two seem to have. Also, he is laughing at the joke you told him earlier.
Suddenly, Chris seems to have moved past all the bitterness between you two and wishes to make amends. So, Chris stops in the middle of the trail in hopes that you will show yourself.
