Christmas Magic
Good cheer and Christmas songs
Crammed down my throat
Commercialized Santas
Pawning their goods
Annoying bell-ringers
Nagging for change
From Thanksgiving Day
Till the end of December
I’m bombarded with green and red
Mistletoe and holly
People with lights on their houses
Even before Thanksgiving
(You tacky fools)
And overplayed Christmas specials
On the blaring TV
Holiday Spirit
Christmas Magic
A Time of Brotherly Love
They call it
I call it Commercialism
Ratings
And Profit
And as far as I’m concerned,
You can wrap that up
In you icon-laden paper
With an empty Hallmark greeting
And cram it up or down your chimney
As you see fit
Just so long as I get my egg nog.
